Malvern man dies in two-vehicle accident

FPS staff report


AccidentA Malvern area man was killed in a fatal crash that occurred on SR 43 just south of the SR 183 intersection in Brown Twp. earlier today.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that occurred at 11:30 a.m.

John E. Earley Jr., 26, of 7144 Sandy Lane, Malvern, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt.

His two-year-old son, Braden M. Earley, of the same address, was a passenger in the vehicle. He was secured in a child safety seat. He was transported to a Canton-area hospital.

Troopers said Earley was traveling southbound on SR 43 in a 2007 Pontiac G6.
Thomas D. Wilson, 21, of 7 Ontario Trail, Malvern, was traveling northbound on SR 43 in a 1996 Chevy Cheyenne pickup truck. Troopers said Wilson drove left of center and struck the Earley vehicle head-on. Both vehicles came to final rest in the southbound lane on SR 43.

Wilson was injured and transported to a Canton-area hospital. It is unknown at this time if a seat belt was worn.

Alcohol is not suspected and the crash remains under investigation.
