McFadden H League team wins opener

FPS staff report

The McFadden Insurance H League Hotstove baseball team opened its season last week with a 15-11 win over Cadiz No. 2 in 5 1/2 innings.

Derrick Hemming led the offense with three hits and three RBI, while Brock Albaugh added two hits and 4 RBI. Matt Mercer and Josh Mazeroski each had one hit and a pair of RBI and Max Feller scored three runs.

On the mound, Mercer picked up the win. He went the first three innings and struckout nine.

Hemming followed with five strikeouts in two innings and Johnny Wiltfang pitched the final inning and struck out the side.
