Longtime Sandy Valley coach John Groff is expected to be hired as the new Cardinal head football coach at Monday’s Board of Education meeting.
Coach Groff has been a teacher and head wrestling coach at Sandy Valley for the past 31 years.
Coach Groff is a 1969 graduate of Fairless and a 1973 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College where he played football and is a member Baldwin-Wallace Hall of Fame. He received his masters degree in 1988 from Ashland University.
Coach Gross was the head football coach at Malvern from 1974-76 and has been on the Cardinal staff since 1977.
Gross resides in the Sandy Valley area with his wife Crystie and five children - Sammy, Mavis, Joel, Jesse and Charles. |
