Malone places third at state meet

Kevin MaloneCOLUMBUS - Senior Kevin Malone and freshman Joey Miller represented Carrollton at the 73rd annual State Wrestling Championships at Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the campus of The Ohio State University last weekend.

And, both wrestlers represented Carrollton well. Malone placed third in the 285-pound weight class and Miller seventh in the 103 class.

Bright inducted into state coaches’ association Hall of Fame

Bright familyIt will be a day to remember by many people - a daylong coming, but one that belonged to a deserving individual.

With family, friends and a host of former wrestlers in the stands at Jerome Schottenstein Center on The Ohio State University campus, former Carrollton head wrestling coach James “Rusty” Bright was last Friday inducted into the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Warriors top Big Red 59-53

Carrollton High School boys sectional final at OUST. CLAIRSVILLE - The Carrollton boys basketball team led from start to finish in defeating Steubenville Big Red 59-53 in the Ohio University Eastern Sectional championship game last Saturday night in front of a large Carrollton crowd at St. Clairsville.

“The fans have been tremendous, especially during the tournament” said Carrollton head coach Matt Voll. “We are very thankful for their support and spirit.”

The Warriors, who improved to 16-6 for the year, will play a one-game district contest Thursday night at OU against Meadowbrook at 7 p.m. Full Story
