FPS staff report

The Bell-Herron boys and girls cross country teams opened their 2010 season last Tuesday at the Carrollton Invitational at the Community Field course.

The girls fell to Claymont by the score of 36-19. Southern Local was there, but did not field a girls team.

Janessa Bell led the Lady Warriors by placing second with a time of 13:56. She was followed by Sarah Donley in seventh place with a time of 16:05, Tabitha Beadnell was eighth with a time of 16:08, Angela Bregenzer placed ninth with a time of 16:15 and Rachel Devine 10th with a time of 16:54.

In the boys race, the Warriors scored 16 points. Claymont and Southern did not field full teams.

Jon Brown won the race with a time of 11:32, Austin Keefer was second with a time of 11:34, Matt Hoopes was third with a time of 12:14, A. J. Vance was fourth with a time of 13:11 and Ben Ocel sixth with a time of 13:29.
