History was made last Thursday in Carrollton High School athletics.
The Warriors’ first ever girls golf team competed in their first match, a quad-angular match against Minerva, New Philadelphia and Garaway at Edgewater Golf Course in Minerva.
Carrollton placed fourth overall with a 258. Minerva was first with a 198, Garaway was second with a 222 and New Philadelphia third with a 223.
Carrollton’s Sara Truman led four freshmen girls with a 53, while Lael Shields followed with a 60, Brianna Yost a 70 and Mycala Nichols a 75.
For Minerva, Brittany Hubbard shot a low round 45. Katelynn Sewell followed with a 49, Mellissa Evanich a 50 and Brogan Petree a 54.
Leading Garaway was Tiffany LoCoco with a 49, Kelsey Klaiber a 53, Bree Yoder a 59 and Tori Sampsel a 61.
New Philadelphia was led by Abby Leggett with a 51, while Hillary Tedrow added a 56, and Tiffany Hanzel and Emily Neer each a 58. |
