Minerva 64, Northwest 45
The Lions’ Kassidy Hardgrove tied the school record for three-pointers in a game with eight in leading the Lions to the Northeastern Buckeye Conference win last Saturday afternoon at Northwest.
The record was set earlier this season by Taylor Maurer.
Hardgrove hit 11-of-15 shots from the floor and finished with a game-high 31 points, while Chelsie Butler added 15 points and nine rebounds.
The win improved the Lions to 14-2 for the year. They lead the NBC standings with a 10-1 mark.
Minerva led 15-10 at the end of the first period, 27-20 at halftime 46-36 at the end of the third quarter.
Rachel DeGuia led the Indians with 16 points.
Strasburg 53, Sandy Valley 24
Carly Clark poured in 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the host Tigers rolled to the Inter-Valley Conference win last Wednesday night.
The Tigers led 12-7 after the first quarter, 23-9 at halftime and 41-14 at the end of the third quarter.
The win improved Strasburg to 12-4 for the year and 9-3 in the IVC.
Megan Hunter led the Cardinals with eight points.
Last Saturday, the Cardinals fell to host East Canton 68-55.
The Wizards’ Courtney Mitchell went 14-for-16 at the free throw line and finished with 21 points, while Kati Varian added 20 points and Cassie Sharp 15.
Danielle Groom led the Cardinals with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds.
East Canton led 15-8 after the first quarter, 35-17 at halftime and 56-33 after the third period.
The loss dropped Sandy Valley to 8-8 for the year.
Newcomerstown 51, Conotton Valley 32
The visiting Trojans outscored the Lady Rockets 12-1 in the second quarter and cruised to the Inter-Valley Conference win last Wednesday night.
Stephany Felton led Newcomerstown with 15 points, while Chelsea Fenton added 14 and Erica Roberts 10 points.
For the Rockets, Carly Gooding led the way with nine points and Becca Jones added eight. Courtney Standiford grabbed seven rebounds for the Rockets.
Last Saturday, the Rockets hosted Garaway and were defeated 50-35.
The loss dropped the Rockets to 2-14 for the year and 0-12 in the IVC, while Garaway improved to 12-4 overall and 10-2 in league play.
Standiford led the Rockets with 12 points and Gooding added seven.
The game was close at halftime with the Pirates holding a 19-17 advantage, but Garaway outscored the Rockets 16-5 in the third quarter to take control of the game.
Kristen Troyer led the Pirates with 18 points, while Hallie Slemmer added nine.
Ridgewood 54, Malvern 42
The Generals’ Courtney Babcock and Kayla Tedrick combined for 38 points in leading the Generals to the Inter-Valley Conference win last Wednesday night at Malvern.
Babcock finished with a game-high 21 points and Tedrick had 17 for Ridgewood, which improved to 12-3 for the year and 9-3 in the IVC.
Ridgewood led 17-12 after the first quarter, 28-24 at halftime and 40-31 going into the final frame.
Logan Smalley paced the Hornets with 19 points and Jennifer Hall added nine.
Last Saturday, the Hornets took on Tuscarawas Central Catholic and were defeated 52-35.
Millie Patchan was more than the Hornets could handle as she scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and recorded six steals for the Saints.
Brianna Neidig added 12 points and six rebounds and Madison Bonamico had 10 points. Becky Russell chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.
For the Hornets, who fell to 3-13 overall and 1-11 in the IVC, Hall led the way with 11 points.
The game was fairly close at halftime, 28-21 in favor of the Saints, but TCC began to pull away in the third and took a 40-29 lead into the final frame. |
