Three games into the season and the Carrollton Lady Warriors are still looking for their first win.
Last Saturday afternoon the Warriors hosted Northwest in a close, hard fought battle, but the visiting Indians pulled out a 51-44 overtime win over the Warriors.
The game was close the whole way. Northwest led 8-7 after the first quarter, 20-17 at halftime, 33-31 at the end of the third quarter. But, the Lady Warriors outscored the Indians 12-10 in the final frame to tie the score at 43-43 at the end of regulation.
Junior Tessa Sanders had a huge game for the Warriors with 26 points, while Kayla Linhart added nine points.
Tess Serb poured in a team-high 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds for Northwest, who improved to 3-0 for the year under first year head coach Murray Hotten. Hotten is the former girls coach at Malvern.
The Warriors hit 15-of-48 shots from the floor, grabbed 16 rebounds and turned the ball over 25 times.
Carrollton was to play at Orrville last Thursday night, but no information was made available for the game.
