Returning lettermen for the 2009-2010 Carrollton boys bowling team are from left to right. Dustin Shreve, Austin Seal, Cody McCauley, Ryan Liptak, Andrew Whaley, Matthew Painter and Dallas Bright.

The Carrollton boys and girls bowling teams will open their second season Dec. 3 against Perry High School at the Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton.

In their first season, the boys won the American Conference championship of the Stark County High School Bowling Conference with a 9-3 record.

The Warriors have 18 boys on the team, including seven returning lettermen.

They are senior Andrew Whaley, juniors Dustin Shreve, Ryan Liptak, Cody McCauley, Dallas Bright, Austin Seal and sophomore Matthew Painter.
“We have 18 boys out this year with some very good under classmen,” said head coach Kurt Lumley. “We should be able to make a run for another championship this year. We need to make good shots and make our spares.”
Rounding out the roster are junior Shawn Wallick, sophomores Kyle Barcus and Brandon Riggs and freshmen Hunter Lumley, Brady McClure, Zac Tinlin, Ben Power, Bryon Carper, Austin Wolford, Aaron Brammer and James Wolford.

For the girls, the Lady Warriors have 10 girls out for the team, including five returning lettermen from last year’s team that finished 4-8 overall.
Returning for the Lady Warriors are senior Haley Tinlin, juniors Jacque Kennedy, Patty Kruprzak, Sara Tucker and sophomore Tori Bright.

“I am very excited about their chances to be competitive,” Lumley said. “They are really starting to come together as a team. I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t be in the championship running.”

Rounding out the girls’ roster are juniors Lexi Sheets and Kara Power and freshmen Destinee Stidom, Courtney Maurer and Danielle Brammer.

The Warriors will host St. Thomas Aquinas on Dec. 8 and Canton Central Catholic on Dec. 14 at Carroll Lanes.

They will travel to Eastbury Lanes to play Timken on Dec. 16 and host North Canton Hoover on Jan. 5.
