Carrollton High School girls basketball lettermen
Return lettermen for the 2009-2010 Carrollton Lady Warriors basketball team are from left to right. Kayla Linhart, Molly Fox, Tessa Sanders and Erin White.

Carrollton Head Coach Craig Rodgers will field a very young team for the 2009-2010 basketball season.

The Lady Warriors have four returning lettermen, one senior, two juniors and a sophomore, from last year’s team that posted an overall record of 2-19.

“We have many younger players who will be asked to step in and make plays early,” Rodgers said.
The four returning letter winners are senior Molly Fox at guard, junior Kayla Linhart at guard, junior Erin White at forward and sophomore Tessa Sanders at forward.

The team is coming together.

“Our team unity is good and the girls plays well together,” said Rodgers.

“We need to show improvement every game to be competitive against every team and win games by beating teams up and down the floor.”

The Warriors struggled last season in league play and Rodgers hopes to improve their league standings.

“Canton South and Minerva were at the top last year,” he said. “Our league is very competitive and anyone can beat anyone on any given night. We just want to be able to compete.”

Rounding out the Warrior varsity are senior Tailer Williams at forward, junior Jen Marteney at forward, sophomore Emily Pandrea at guard, sophomore Kelsey Cogan at guard and freshman Taylor Lowdermilk at guard.

Coach Rodgers will be assisted this season by varsity assistant Jodie Poole and Abra Neeley will coach the junior varsity.

The Warriors will host Northwest this Saturday. Next Saturday, Dec. 12, Carrollton will travel to West Branch and on Dec. 16 they will be at Jackson. They return to NBC action Dec. 19 when they host Marlington. Claymont will visit Carrollton on Dec. 21. On Dec. 28, the Warriors will travel to Coshocton and end 2009 by visiting Louisville on Dec. 30.
