The Carrollton girls soccer team wrapped up the season with an awards banquet last Wednesday at the Days Inn in Carrollton.
The Lady Warriors finished the 2009 campaign with a 3-11-1 regular season record.
Freshman goalie Alex Grunder, who gained All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference honorable mention honors, was handed the most valuable player award.
Junior Liz Brown was named the best defensive player, junior Megan Perry the best mid fielder and junior Renee Davis the best forward.
The coaches award went to senior Jessica Rucker, while the most improved award was handed to junior Alex Glasure, who also won the Miss Congeniality award along with junior Kelsey Wise.
Senior Chelsea McIntire, who was selected All-District honorable mention, was handed her fourth year letter. She was the only Lady Warrior to receive the four-year honor.
Perry joins McIntire in being named All-District honorable mention and Davis was named to the second team All-District.
In relation to NBC honors, Davis was named to the first team, Perry to the second and Grunder and Brown were selected honorable mention.
Third year letters went to Brown, Kayla Hendricks, Perry and Davis.
Second year letters were handed to Michelle Tangler, Rucker, Ali Graham and Hannah Podratz.
First year letters went to Bria Deitz, Grunder, Emma Starre, Glasure, Lachelle Looman, Jessica Schell, Wise and Bethany Sevek.
Certificates of participation were awarded to Lauren Keefer and Oksanna Tinney. |
