Carrollton High School wrestling lettermen
Returning lettermen for the 2009-2010 Carrollton Warriors wrestling team are from left to right. Front row – Codi Poole, Curt Kline, Seth Dolvin, Cody Starkey and Josh Miller. Back row – Bryant Harris, Logan Krell, Luke Galbraith, Kevin Malone and Jordan Burkhart.

Last season was a very successful season for the Carrollton wrestling team.

They posted a 14-4 dual meet record and placed second in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference with a 6-1 mark.

Carrollton head coach Ken Pasiuk, who is entering his seventh year as head coach of the Warriors, believes the 2009-2010 season will also be a success.

“The kids and coaching staff are looking forward to this season,” Pasiuk said. “We are fortunate to have a good group of kids to work with again. We will miss some key wrestlers we had last year; however, we are very fortunate to have 10 returning lettermen, four of which are district qualifiers and one state placer. In addition, we have wrestlers that have had very successful seasons as well as some freshmen that I anticipate will contribute to the success we will have on our team this season.”

“Our goals for the season are to stay healthy, work hard each day, keep focused and for each wrestler to reach their individual goals.”

Returning for the Warriors are:
Junior Jordan Burkhart (35-8) at 119 pounds, a two-time state placer.

Senior Kevin Malone (34-7) at heavy weight. Malone is a three-year letter winner and district qualifier from last season.

Senior Josh Miller (29-11) at 160 or 171, was named All-NBC second team last season.

Junior Seth Dolvin, who recorded 17 wins last season, at 189-215, was NBC honorable mention last season.

Junior Luke Galbraith (19-13) at 140-145, a two-year letter winner and NBC honorable mention last season.

Junior Cody Starkey had 13 wins last season and will wrestle at 119 or 125.

Also returning for the Warriors are seniors Curt Kline (171-189) and Codie Poole (145-152), junior Bryant Harris (130-135) and sophomore Logan Krell at 130-135.

Rounding out the Warrior roster are seniors Anthony Brown, Kerry Sells, Jim Tubaugh and Robbie Wilson, juniors Cody Babe, Cole Fleming, Seth Jones, Jay Kelly, Gage Orwick, T. J. Richards and Jeremy Wright, sophomores Kyle Davis, Joey Harter, Connor McLean, Alex Poole, Andrew Weals and Adam Wenner, and freshmen Mike Bryant, Jordon Houyouse, J. R. Hull, Justin Johnson, C. J. Lunsford, Austin Miller, Joey Miller, Conner Mosley, Vincent Piecynski, Sam Pozderac, Dylan Titus and Jesse Young.

Assisting Coach Pasiuk this season will be Brian Burkhart, Eric McCort, Aaron Kampfer and Eric Hilty.

The Warriors will open their season Dec. 5 with a triangular against Coshocton and Norton at Coshocton. They will be at Claymont on Dec. 10 and take part in the North Canton Hoover Holiday Tournament Dec. 18 and 19. Between Christmas and New Years the Warriors will be at the Wheeling Park Duals Dec. 29 and 30.

The Warriors will wrestle at home for the first time on Jan. 7 against NBC foe Alliance.
