Bell records three firsts

FPS staff report

Carrollton High School girls track
Carrollton senior Jasmine Bell (in front) recorded three first and a second at last Tuesday win over Canton South.

Carrollton senior Jasmine Bell recorded three first place finishes and a second place finish, but the Lady Warriors couldn’t get past visiting Canton South last Tuesday night at Community Field.

The Wildcats defeated the Warriors 81-47.

“We did not perform well as a team or individually,” said head coach Chris Woolf. “When we get swept in multiple events it is never a good performance. We had too many regressions in too many areas. We lack significant depth to take steps backward.”

Bell won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:14. She was also a member of the winning 3,200-meter relay team of Kailey Patterson, Katelyn Jacobson and Kelsey Cogan that finished with a time of 11:38 and the winning 1,600-meter relay team of Renee Davis, Roni Atkinson and Patterson that won with a time of 5:02. Bell placed second in the 800-meter run.

April Sisk won the discus with a throw of 108-feet, 8-inches.

Placing second for the Warriors were Jacque Kennedy in the 400-meter dash, Jacobson in the 3,200-meter run, Tailer Williams in the discus and Chelsea Williams in the shot. The 800-meter and 400-meter relay teams also placed second.

Placing third for Carrollton was Rebecca Soisson in the high jump, Davis in the 100 and 300 hurdles, Jacobson in the 1,600-meter run, Kailey Kennedy in the 400-meter dash, Patterson in the 800-meter run and Jordan Schlabach in the 200-meter dash.

Carrollton was to be at Louisville Tuesday night. Thursday they will be at the Quaker Club Mini Relays at Quaker Stadium in New Philadelphia.

Next week, they will host West Branch Tuesday and take part in the annual Lidderdale Invitational at Sandy Valley High School on Saturday.
