The week two winner of the Discovering Tomorrow’s Leaders, sponsored by Chesapeake Energy, is Malvern senior Abagael Wood.

“Abagael is by far the most sincere, honest and compassionate young woman in this years’ class at Malvern High School,” said Sudie Yoder, who along with head girls basketball coach Doug Wackerly, nominated Wood for the Award.

“She is a very intelligent, determined and respectful young lady as she expresses ideas and negotiates her studies and activities,” continued Yoder. “When Abby speaks, it seems to me that her family, friends and associates sit up and listen or take note.”

Wood is a four-year member of the Lady Hornets basketball team, President of the National Honor Society, Class President, Yearbook Editor, Foreign Language Club, French Honor Society, newly formed this year, and a member of student council.

Upon graduation, Wood would like to attend college away from home and live the college campus life and learn from this experience.

The award is awarded to elementary and high school students who have shown leadership qualities in 4-H, FFA or any other volunteer organization.
