May 16 - Carroll County Arts Center’s Thursday Art for Everyone “Paper Making” with Paula Wheeler & Donna Allen. Cost is $10. Seats are limited. Call 330-627-3739.

May 17 - Free “Oil & Gas Informational Workshop” at 10 a.m. at Connections Building, 55 E. Main St. (rear) Carrollton.  To register for the workshop call 330-627-3804.  Workshop is open to the public.

May 17 - Area 16 Workforce Investment Board (WIB) quarterly meeting at 10 am. at Harrison Community Hospital, 951 E. Market St., Cadiz.

May 18 - Saturday Kidz Klass at Carroll County Arts Center begins at 10 a.m. with a project based on Van Gogh’s Sunflowers using chalk. For grades 3 & 4.  Cost is $5.

May 18 - Tri-County Opry will be at the Roxy Theater in Minerva at 7:30 p.m.  Doors open at 7 p.m.  Featured vocalists are The Babbs, southern gospel and country recording artists from Bellevue along with Jimmy Howson, Donna Kandel, the Soehnlen Sisters, and Jason Mikes with a “tribute to Cash.” Admission is $6 for ages 10 and over. May 19 - Reception for Carroll County Arts Center’s featured artist for May, Helen Lewis, from 2-4 p.m.  Lewis’ work concentrates on art & design work in mixed media, collage, encaustic and calligraphy.

May 21 - Carroll County Genealogical Society meeting at 6 p.m. at the Genealogy library.

May 24 -  Free “Resume”  informational workshop at 10 a.m. at Connections Building, 55 E. Main St. (rear) Carrollton.  To register for the workshop call 330-627-3804.  Workshop is open to the public.

May 30 - Area 16 Council of Government (COG) quarterly meeting at 1 p.m. at Harrison  County DJFS in Cadiz.

June 1 - All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast at Loudon Twp. Community Center in Kilgore from 8-11 a.m. Cost is $5.50 for adults, $3 for ages 4-11, under age 3,free. June 3 - Carroll County Board of Elections Special meeting at 9 a.m. to open bids for electronic poll books, etc. and other business.

June 5 - East Central Ohio Forestry Association (ECOFA) meeting will feature Marne Titchenell, Wildlife Program Specialist with Ohio State University Extension Service.  The 8 p.m. program will explain the best ways to place trail cameras and attract wildlife within range to take clear pictures.  The public is invited to attend the free meetings which are held  at McDonald-Marlite Lewis Conference Center, 143 McDonald Dr., NW, in New Philadelphia.

June 10 - Regular Carroll County Board of Elections meeting cancelled.  Moved to June 3. 

CHURCH
May 19 - Thompson Family & Friends will present a southern gospel concert for Relay for Life in memory of Mabel Thompson at 3 p.m. at Scio Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Eastport St., Scio. Light refreshments follow. All donations accepted for cancer.

June 2 - Gospel concert featuring Julian & Bonnie George at First Presbysterian Church, 200 N. Lisbon St., Carrollton. Free will offering.  Public welcome.
