Aug. 2 - Kilgore Homecoming All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast at Loudon Twp. Community Center from 8-11 a.m. $6 Adults, $3.50 children ages 4-11. Carryout available. Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to noon. Set up begins at 7 a.m. Bring own table. Info, call Donna at 330-739-4193 or Judy 330-739-4005.

Aug. 3 - Bergholz Area Museum on the corner of 2nd & Jefferson St. open from 12:30-3:30 p.m. See a video of mid-1950s from former resident Ken Parsons featuring various Bergholz, Amsterdam & East Springfield townspeople, businesses and schoolchildren; also complete collection of Bergholz newsletters.

Aug. 4 - 8 - Used Book Sale in the conference room at the Carroll County District Library. Hours of sale are: Monday -Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; and Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.  By donation with all proceeds benefiting the Bookmobile Project.  The library is located at 70 2nd St NE, Carrollton.  Info at 330-627-2613.

Aug. 6 - Carroll County Board of Elections meeting at 11:30 a.m. in the office in the courthouse.

Aug. 10 - Lasagna Dinner at Jewett Volunteer Fire from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Includes salad, bread, dessert & beverage. Adult $8; Child $4.

Aug. 10 - Carroll Co. Animal Protection League Pie & Ice Cream Social 1-3 p.m. at Consumers National Bank in Carrollton. Slice of pie $2 or w/ice cream $3; ice cream cones $1. Proceeds benefit no-kill animal shelter construction.

Aug. 16 - A Marshall Family reunion for descendants of Aaron Marshall and Sarah Snowden Marshall at Carroll County Park on SR 39. Registration begins at 10 a.m.  with overview of Carroll County’s pioneer beginnings, followed by catered lunch.

Aug. 17 - Carroll County Democrat Central & Executive Committee Annual Chicken BBQ from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Vet’s Club, Brenner Rd., Carrollton. $10 per person. Carryout available. Menu consists of 1/2 chicken, baked potato, green beans, applesauce, roll, dessert, & drink. Aug. 18 - Huff Run Watershed children’s nature/outdoor engagement & environmental education program from 4-6 p.m. at Mineral City Community Garden (Nicole Donant Library if inclement weather). Program geared toward ages 6-12. For info, call 330-859-1050.
