Malvern 53, East Canton 32
The Hornets jumped out to a 14-1 first quarter advantage and never looked back in rolling over host East Canton last Friday night in the opening game of the season for both teams.
Junior Trey Tucci led the Hornets with 20 points, while senior Max Kapron added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Malvern led 28-8 at the intermission and 43-16 going into the final period.
The Hornets held a 35-16 advantage on the boards.
Conotton Valley 63, Shenandoah 43
Conotton Valley senior Brandon Bailey poured in 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Rockets to a 63-43 win over Shenandoah in the season opener for both schools.
Bailey got help from Keaton Carrothers with nine points and nine rebounds and Brandon Galigher with nine rebounds.
The game was tied at 13-all at the end of the first quarter, but the Rockets began taking charge in the second period and held a 30-17 advantage at halftime.
Denny Newhart led Shenandoah with a team-high 22 points.
Tusky Valley 61, Sandy Valley 44
The Trojans’ Jordan Felgenhauer poured in 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead Tusky Valley to a 61-44 win over the host Cardinals last Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
Zach Lewis added 12 points for Tusky Valley.
Nate Shepler paced the Cardinals with 17 points and three assists.
The Trojans led 16-3 after the first quarter, 29-17 at halftime and 57-31 going into the fourth quarter.
Zach Schlimm and Walker Grossman each had four rebounds for the Cardinals, who were outrebounded 30-21 by the Tusky Valley Trojans. |
