Malvern 81, Canton Heritage Christian 34
Led by senior Max Kapron’s 17 points and 10 rebounds, the host Malvern Hornets rolled over Canton Heritage Christian 81-34 in a nonleague win last Friday night.
Also hitting in double figures for the Hornets was Trey Tucci with 16 points, while Nick Mohr and Mitchell Loomis each added 10 points.
Nathan Martin paced the Conquerors with 16 points.
The Hornets jumped out to an early 21-9 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 38-19 at halftime and 65-25 after three quarters.
Conotton Valley 39, Strasburg 23
It wasn’t the prettiest game of the season by the Conotton Valley Rockets, but they will take a 39-23 victory over host Strasburg last Friday night.
The Rockets led by two points at halftime 17-15, but held the Tigers to just eight second-half points.
Conotton, playing without their leading scorer and rebounder Brandon Bailey, improved to 9-2 for the year.
Zach Lyon and Tyler Bowdish each scored 10 points for the Rockets.
Marek Walczak led the Tigers with eight points.
West Branch 48, Minerva 46
Minerva’s Jantsen Locke scored a game-high 25 points last Friday night on the road at West Branch, but in the end it was not enough as the Lions fell to West Branch by a basket, 48-46.
Kip DeShields led the Warriors with 13 points and Beau Taylor added 11 points.
The Lions held a 13-9 advantage after the first quarter, but the Warriors outscored the Lions 16-10 in the second period to take a 25-23 lead at halftime. West Branch took a 41-36 lead into the final eight minutes of play. |
