Minerva 56, Buckeye Local 34
Led by Josie Chaddock’s 14 points, eight rebounds and eight steals, the Minerva Lady Lions defeated Buckeye Local last Wednesday night 56-34 in their opening game of the Union Local Division II Sectional Tournament.
Lorin Clark added 14 points for the Lions, who improved to 16-7 on the year.
Minerva led 15-8 after the first quarter, 22-17 at halftime and 35-20 going into the final frame.
Rosecrans 69, Malvern 26
Zanesville Rosecrans scored the first 36 points of the game and cruised to a 69-26 win over Malvern in the first round of the Claymont Division IV Sectional Tournament last Monday night.
Malvern ended its season with a solid 12-11 record.
Sara Loomis led the Hornets with 11 points.
Chloe Johnson led Rosecrans with 20 points and Molly Nash added 17.
Strasburg 43, Conotton Valley 25
The Strasburg Lady Tigers ended Conotton Valley’s season last Wednesday night with a 43-25 win at the Claymont Division IV sectional.
Olivia Bower led the Rockets with nine points.
Harrison Central 50, Sandy Valley 46
The Sandy Valley Lady Cardinals closed out their season last Wednesday night with a 50-46 loss to Harrison Central at the Dover Division III sectional.
Courtney Huffman paced the Cardinals, who end with a record of 7-16, with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Mercedes Bowling added 15 points.
Katie Ellzy led Harrison Central with 18 points. |
