Minerva 55, West Branch 52
Minerva junior Jantsen Locke scored 23 points and Nick Clapper added 12 points to lead the Minerva Lions to a 55-52 win over visiting West Branch last Tuesday night in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference game.

The Lions led 19-14 at the end of the opening frame, 33-25 at halftime and 42-39 entering the final stanza.

Billy Eyer added six points and eight rebounds for the Lions.

For the Warriors, Jacob Griffith led the way with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Last Friday night, the Lions were on the road at Marlington.

Led by senior Lucas Strouble’s 14 points, the Dukes rolled over the Lions 67-41 to stay alive in battle for the NBC title.

Dan Krupko added 12 points and Micah Hall 10 points for the Dukes, who improved to 12-6 for the year and 9-3 in the NBC.

Billy Eyer and Jantsen led the Lions with 14 points each.

Marlington led 19-9 after the first quarter, 35-17 at halftime and 53-27 going into the final period.

Last Saturday night in an NBC contest, the Lions fell to Alliance 78-45.

Nick Clapper led the Lions with 19 points, while Eyer added 10.

The Aviators led 16-14 after the first quarter, but they blew the game open in the second frame, outscoring the Lions 24-11 to take a 40-25 lead at the intermission.

J. J. Kukura poured in a single-game school record 46 points for the Aviators, who can share the NBC title if they defeat Canton South Friday night.

The loss dropped the Lions to 3-17 for the year and 2-11 in the NBC.

Garaway 63, Sandy Valley 30
The visiting Pirates jumped out to a 26-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in rolling over the Cardinals 63-30 last Friday night in an Inter-Valley Conference game.

Zach Schlimm led the Cardinals with 14 points.

The loss dropped the Cardinals to 4-15 and 2-9 in the IVC.

The Pirates were led by Duane Troyer with 18 points.

Malvern 62, Steubenville Catholic Central 46
Senior Max Kapron scored a game-high 20 points and Mitch Loomis added 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Hornets to a 62-46 nonleague win over visiting Steubenville Catholic Central last Saturday night.

The Hornets trailed 13-11 after the first quarter, but took control in the second period, outscoring Steubenville 17-7 and taking a 28-20 lead at halftime. The win improved the Hornets to 13-6 for the year.

Conotton Valley 66, Linsly 52
Conotton Valley senior Brandon Bailey poured in 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Rockets to a 66-52 win over Linsley Military Academy last Friday night.

Brandon Galligher added 14 points and Zach Lyon chipped in with 10 points.

The win improved the Rockets to 12-6 for the year.

Conotton trailed 15-14 after the first quarter, but rallied to take a 32-25 lead at halftime and 45-36 lead at the end of the third quarter.
