Minerva 53, Tusky Valley 39
The Minerva Lady Lions took control early and defeated host Tuscarawas Valley 53-39 last Wednesday night in a nonleague game.
Three Lady Lions scored in double figures. Lorin Clark led the way with 13 points, while Jacklyn Russell added 12 and Raychel Blocher had 10.
Lauren Haynam and Blocher each grabbed five rebounds for the Lions.
Minerva led 18-7 after the first quarter, 29-13 at halftime and 33-27 going into the final frame.
Katelynn Dunlap recorded a double-double for Tusky Valley with 14 points and 17 rebounds. Lauren Weisgarber added 10 points.
The Lions returned to Northeastern Buckeye Conference play last Saturday afternoon where they were defeated by host West Branch 67-40.
Pavin Heath led all scorers with a game-high 19 points, while Brittany Bryte added 12 points, Melinda Trimmer finished with 11 points and Amanda Linhart ended with eight points and seven rebounds.
Clark led the Lions with 17 points and seven rebounds.
The Warriors led 12-5 after the first quarter, 36-12 at the half and 50-27 with one quarter left to play.
Malvern 54, Alliance 24
Three Malvern players scored in double figures to lead the Lady Hornets to a 54-24 win over host Alliance last Wednesday night in a nonleague game.
Logan Smalley led the way for the Hornets with 14 points, while Ashley Patterson added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Casey Franquero added 10 points.
Malvern led at the end of each quarter, 19-8 after the opening period, 25-12 at halftime and 41-14 going into the final eight minutes of play.
Cheyenne Phillips led the Aviators with seven points.
In an Inter-Valley Conference game last Saturday, the Hornets fell to host Strasburg 64-35.
Smalley and Ashley Patterson led the Hornets, who fell to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the IVC, with nine points each.
Kearstyn Moore led the Tigers with a game-high 16 points, while Mackenzie Colombo added 13 and Stephanie Schuster 12 points.
Zanesville Rosecrans 64, Conotton Valley 34
Kloie Johnson scored 19 points, including five three pointers, to lead visiting Zanesville Rosecrans to a 64-34 win over the Rockets last Wednesday night.
The Bishops were in control the whole way, leading 23-9 after the first quarter, 39-20 at halftime and 52-28 after three quarters.
Olivia Bower led the Rockets with 14 points, while Piper Edie added eight points.
Indian Valley 65, Sandy Valley 39
The game was close for three quarters, but Indian Valley outscored Sandy Valley 26-6 in the fourth quarter to defeat the Cardinals 65-39 last Thursday night.
Mercedes Bowling led the Cardinals with 13 points, while Courtney Huffman added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Emily Baker led the Braves with a game-high 22 points.
Last Saturday afternoon, the Cardinals defeated Newcomerstown 57-40 on the road in a Inter-Valley Conference game.
Huffman paced the Lady Cardinals with 15 points and 17 rebounds.
Sandy Valley led 12-8 after the first quarter, 27-17 at the half and 38-28 going into the last stanza.
