The opening week of the high school girls basketball season proved to be very successful for the Carrollton Lady Warriors.
Not only was it a successful week, but also very busy.
Carrollton played three games, winning all three.
Last Monday Carrollton picked up a 60-43 win over Indian Creek.
Ali Poole and Taylor Lowdermilk scored 14 points each. Monica Starre had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Carrollton led 17-11 after one quarter, 26-22 at the half and 44-29 at the end of three quarters.
Last Wednesday, the Lady Warriors downed host Claymont 58-33 in a non-league game.
Savana Lowery led the way for the Warriors with a game-high 18 points, while Starre added 10.
The Warriors led 12-5 after the opening quarter, 27-12 at halftime and 37-19 going into the final period of play.
Last Saturday, the Warriors opened their Northeastern Buckeye Conference schedule at home against the Marlington Dukes.
The Warriors led from start to finish, 13-10 after the first quarter, 31-16 at halftime and 42-25 at the end of three quarters.
Lowdermilk had a big game for the Warriors with 27 points, while Lowery added 13 points.
Ali Rodgers led the Dukes with 12 points and Morgan Penird had 10 points.
The Warriors were to host Coshocton Wednesday. They will travel to Alliance on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff for the junior varsity game is noon.
Next week they will be at New Philadelphia on Wednesday and host Canton South Saturday afternoon.
