Warrior boys soccer drops final two regular season matches

FPS staff report

The Carrollton boys soccer team ended its regular season last week with a pair of losses.

Last Tuesday at Minerva the Warriors fell to the Lions 7-0.

Minerva outshot the Warriors 17-3 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman goalie Mason Pasiuk had eight saves for the Warriors.

Tyler Stewart led the Lions with three goals, while Phillip Blackburn added two, and Justin Campbell and Shem Haas had single goals.

Campbell recorded four assists for Minerva.

Last Thursday in their final regular season match, the Warriors fell to host Steubenville 7-0.

Big Red held a huge advantage in shots taken 28-6 and in corner kicks 6-0.

Pasiuk recorded 14 saves at goal for the Warriors.

The Warriors were to open tournament play Tuesday night at the Steubenville Division II Sectional against Beaver Local.

Minerva received the No. 1 seed in the tournament and was also scheduled to play Tuesday night against Edison Local.
