FPS staff report

After 14 very successful seasons leading the Malvern Hornet football program, Dave Tucci has resigned to pursue other opportunities within the school district.
During his coaching years at Malvern, Tucci posted a record of 107-49 and a combined record of 137-69, including five seasons a Tusky Valley.
“It has been quite a ride,” Tucci said. “But, it is time to do something else. I will continue to support the football program in other capacities.”
“I have been fortunate to have some great and talented players play for me throughout the years.”
He has coached seven first-team All-Ohioans and 49 first team All-Inter Valley Conference players.
He has taken the Hornets to the playoffs eight times, including the last six straight seasons, and one state semifinal appearance. He has won four IVC titles and has received eight different Coach of the Year awards.
“I’ve had a lot of support from the school board, administration and the community has been tremendous,” noted Tucci. “In addition to the great support, I’ve worked with some very good assistant coaches along the way that have played a large role in the success of the program.”
“I would like to thank my family and support staff for their support the past 14 years. They have been here in the good times and the bad.”
The search for a new head coach is underway.
