Carrollton High School wrestling
Heavyweight Dakota Maple recorded a pin in 31-seconds in his match last Thursday night at Louisville.

The Carrollton varsity wrestling team recorded six pins, a decision and a forfeit in defeating host Louisville in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference opener for both teams.

The match started at 160-pounds and was close until the three upper weight classes when the Warriors recorded a decision by J. R. Hull (195) and back-to-back pins by Austin Bentley (220) and Dakota Maple (285) to take a 21-6 advantage over the Leopards at that point in the match.

Warrior Joey Miller (120) pinned Todd Bradley in 4:26; Zach Wallace (132) pinned Garrett Robbins in 1:59; Tristan Stallard (152) pinned Walter Schrock in 4:45; Connor Mosley (170) pinned Marshall Mason in 4:59; Bentley (220) pinned Jon Middleton in 1:03; Maple (285) pinned Terry Gooch in 31-seconds. Hull (195) won a 10-4 decision over Tanner Brahler and C. J. Brady won by forfeit.

Last Saturday, the Warriors hosted Claymont in a dual.

The Mustangs won 11 of the 14 matches in defeating the Warriors 52-12.

Carrollton recorded one pin as Miller pinned Collin Clark to win the 126-pound match. Stallard won a 9-8 decision over Rex Peters in the 152-pound match and Maple decisioned Kyle Henry 7-2 in the heavyweight match.
