Warrior linkers down Alliance in opening matches

FPS staff report

The Carrollton varsity boys golf team opened its 2014 season last Wednesday afternoon at home against Alliance at Carroll Meadows.

They played 18-holes with the outing counting as two matches.

Carrollton won the front nine 155-161 and the back nine 161-186.

On the front nine, senior Cale Pozderac shot an even par 35, with freshman Christian Barto next with a 39, senior Tyler Shuman fired a 40, senior Troy Fairclough a 41, and seniors Mason Albrecht and Luke Cosart each a 45.

On the back nine, which was played as an away match, Pozderac shot a 38, Barto a 39, Cosart a 41, Albrecht and Fairclough each a 43 and Shuman a 48.

Carrollton was to host West Branch on Tuesday and travel to Marlington on Wednesday.

The Warriors will be at the Alliance Golf Tournament on Thursday and travel to West Branch on Friday.
