Lady Warriors finish third at Mini Relays and Lidderdale Invitational

The Carrollton girls track team took part in the New Philadelphia Mini Relays last Thursday evening at Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium and last Saturday the Warriors were at the annual Lidderdale Invitational at Sandy Valley. They placed third at each meet with 64 and 69.5 points, respectively.

Last Tuesday’s dual meet at Salem was suspended due to lightning. A make up date has not been announced.

At New Philadelphia, the Warriors had two relay teams place first, the distance medley team of Hayley Barrick, Stephanie Donley, Kady Davis and Naomi Young and the 1,600-meter relay team of Lindsay Schandel, Davis, Young and Stephanie Donley.

Placing second was the shuttle relay team of Liza Kirk, Jordan Schlabach, Harley Schandel and Caitlynn Moyer.

Placing third was the 400-meter relay team of Barrick, Jessica Rogers, Jordan Schlabach and Sarah Donley.

Massillon won the seven-team event with 82 points with Canton Central Catholic placing second with 77 points.

Last Saturday in the nine-team field at Sandy Valley, Carrollton had two first place finishes, Stephanie Donley in the 400-meter dash with a  time of 1:03.7 and the 1,600-meter relay team of Young, Davis, Lindsay Schandel  and Stephanie Donley with a time of 4:22.80.

Placing second were the 3,200-meter relay team of Davis, Young, Stephanie Donley and Lindsay Schandel with a time of 10:48.30 and the 800-meter relay team of Barrick, Davis, Sarah Donley and Stephanie Donley with a time of 1:55.55.

Placing third was the 400-meter relay team of Sarah Donley, Jessica Rogers, Barrick and Maddie Birong with a time of 57.26; Young in the 800 with a time of 2:35.30 and Sarah Donley in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.19.

Placing fourth were Davis in the 800 with a time of 2:37.70 and Barrick in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.0.

Placing sixth were Harley Schandel in the 300 hurdles with a time of 56.8 and Sarah Donley in the high jump with a jump of 4’6”.

Canton South won the title with 118 points and Indian Valley was second with 69.5.

Carrollton was to host West Branch Tuesday night. They will be at Alliance next Tuesday and host Canton South on May 7.

The Northeastern Buckeye Conference championships will be held May 17 at Marlington High School beginning at 4 p.m.
