Warrior matmen pick up two more dual wins

The Warriors Tristian Stallard (145) won a 14-1 major decision over Austin Ness of Canton South last Thursday night.

The Carrollton wrestling team hosted Canton South last Thursday night in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference dual meet.

The Warriors recorded five pins, two major decisions, two decisions and a forfeit in defeating the Wildcats 50-18.

The Warriors also took part in the State Dual Team Tournament last Wednesday at Claymont.

They opened by defeating Minerva 38-27, but fell to Claymont in the finals 77-0, wrestling only junior varsity wrestlers.

With one regular season match remaining, the Warriors are 20-6 in dual meets and 5-1 in the NBC. They will host Minerva Thursday night. Each team has one league loss. West Branch is undefeated in the conference. They defeated Minerva last Thursday 35-30.

Recording pins against Canton South were, C. J. Brady  (106), Joey Miller (120), Jonathan Dunlap (160), Connor Mosley (170), and Justin Johnson (182).

Tristan Stallard (145) and Austin Brooks (152) each had major decisions and Joey Galbraith (113) and Austin Bentley (220) won by decision. Tyler Dodd (195) won by forfeit.

Against Minerva, the Warriors had two pins, Miller (120) and Micah Campbell (220), two major decisions by Zach Wallace (126) and Brooks (152), two decision by Joey Knipp (132) and Cody Stragan (138) and winning by forfeit were Mosley (170) nad Doll (195).
