The 2012 Carrollton girls soccer season came to an end with the team’s annual banquet which was held last Tuesday in the high school cafeteria.
Seven players received Special Awards. Monica Starre was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.
Best Defensive Player is Bethany Sevek, Best Mid Fielder is Emma Starre and Best Forward is Stephanie Donley. The Coaches Award went to Stephanie Host, while the Most Improved award went to Alyssa Sammons, and the Miss Congeniality award to Amanda Sammons.
Emma Starre and Sevek each received their fourth year varsity letter, while Alex Grunder and Haley Keefer each their third year letter.
Receiving their second year letters were Donley, Monica Starre, Host and Schyler Fennimore.
Earning first year letters were Kylie Maykowski, Sarah Donley, Jessica Stertzbach, Annabel Vernier, Alyssa Sammons, Autumn Beamer and Amanda Sammons.
Earning All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference honors were Grunder, first team; Sarah Donley, second team, and Monica Starre and Sevek, honorable mention.
The Lady Warriors also did their work in the classroom. Those earning All-NBC Scholar Athletes awards for earning a varsity letter and carrying a 3.4 grade point average are Grunder, Maykowski, Sevek, Emma Starre, Vernier, Stephanie Donley, Fennimore, Keefer, Alyssa Sammons, Monica Starre, Beamer, Sarah Donley and Amanda Sammons.
Receiving All-Eastern District honors were Grunder, first team; Monica Starre, second team; Emma Starre and Sevek, honorable mention.
Carrollton head coach Kindra Filburn was named the Coach of the Year.
Coach Filburn was assisted this year by Larry Devine and Katelynn Hilderbrand served as the team’s statistician.
