The Carrollton High School boys golf team held its season-ending banquet Nov. 3 at Knickers Restaurant at the Carroll Meadows Golf Course.
The Warriors put together another excellent season. They finished with a record of 12-5 and are Northeastern Buckeye Conference co-champions with an 11-3 mark. They qualified for the district tournament after placing fourth at the River Greens sectional.
Head coach Gary Cogan and junior high coach Chris Barto presented players with varsity letters and special awards.
Junior Cale Pozderac took home two special awards, Low Average (37.75) and the Putting Award (14.4).
His excellent play during the season earned him the NBC Player of the Year award by the league coaches.
Pozderac was also named first team All-NBC and is a NBC Scholar Athlete for carrying a 3.4 grade point average and earning a varsity letter. It was his third varsity letter.
The Coaches Award went to junior Tyler Shuman. Shuman was second on the team in scoring with a 42.0 average. He earned his third varsity letter. He is also first team All-NBC and an NBC Scholar Athlete.
The Most Improved Award was awarded to junior Troy Fairclough. Fairclough averaged 43.23 strokes per outing this past season. He received his first-year varsity letter and was named All-NBC second team.
Also earning their first-year varsity letters were juniors Luke Cosart and Mason Albrecht and sophomore Jan Mailaender.
Albrecht and Cosart earned All-NBC Honorable Mention.
Receiving Certificates of Participation were sophomores Nick Abel, Max Feller, Derrick Hemming and Cree Ward and freshman Noah Balint.
