Things looked good early for the Warriors last Friday night on homecoming night at Community Field. But, in the end the Alliance Aviators were just too much for the hosts as Carrollton fell 47-13.
The loss dropped the Warriors to 3-3 for the year and 1-2 in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference.
Alliance improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the NBC.
The night started off good for Carrollton.
After receiving the opening kickoff, the Warriors only needed three plays to get into the end zone.
Junior running back Tyler Dodd ran for 16-yards and a first down on the first play, before junior quarterback Zade Deitz ran for four more yards.
On the next play, Dietz hit wide open Brandon Johnson over the middle for a 40-yard scoring strike. Junior kicker Daniel Leary added the point after giving the Warriors an early 7-0 lead.
The Aviators got on the board with just 44-seconds left in the opening quarter when senior J. J. Kukura scored on a 15-yard pass from senior quarterback Kordelle Phillips.
Alliance started to take control of the game in the second quarter as senior Parrish Martin scored on a two-yard run and Ryan Bevington scored on a four-yard pass from Phillips.
The Aviators took a 20-7 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Alliance put the game out of reach in the third quarter, scoring three times.
Phillips hit Joshua Hammerton with a 48-yard bomb, Kofi Amponsah scored on a one-yard run and Martin blew through the Warrior line and scored on a 44-yard run.
Alliance cruised into the final period with a 40-7 advantage.
Dodd got the Warriors on the board in the final frame on a 12-yard run and Alliance ended the scoring when Phillips hit Martin with a 62-yard bomb with just under seven minutes left in the game.
Alliance held a huge advantage in total yard, 433-256.
For the Warriors, Dodd and Deitz each rushed for 59 yards. Through the air Deitz hit 8-of-15 passes for 130 yards with a pair of interceptions and a touchdown.
Defensively, the Warriors had a pair of quarterback sacks, one each for Dodd and Micah Campbell. Deitz also had an interception from his cornerback position. In all, the defense recorded six tackles for losses.
Alliance was led by Phillips on the ground and through the air. Phillips rushed for 62 yards and hit 16-of-21 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns.
Martin rushed for 47-yards and caught six passes for 92 yards. Kukura added six receptions for 85 yards and a score.
The Warriors will be on the road Friday night at West Branch, which fell to Louisville 48-0.
