Carrollton High School boys basketball
Lane Hartong pulls down a rebound durning second quarter action from last Friday's NBC game at Alliance.

After two cancellations due to weather, the Carrollton boys basketball team met the Minerva Lions on the Lions’ home court.

The Warriors found the Minerva gym very favorable last Tuesday night as they jumped on the Lions early and then held on for a 51-43 Northeastern Buckeye Conference win and a season sweep of the Lions.

Senior Tyler Krantz led the Warriors with 14 points, including three three-pointers, while junior Caleb Pasiuk added 13 points and junior Zade Deitz 10 points.

Carrollton led 18-9 after the opening quarter and 29-24 at halftime. However, the Lions outscored the Warriors 12-7 in the third quarter to tie the game at 36-36 going into the final frame.

Senior Jantsen Locke scored a game-high 20 points, including going 12-for-12 from the line. Nick Clapper added 11 points for the Lions.

Last Friday night the Warriors fell to Alliance in their final regular season game in the Harry Fails Gymnasium at Alliance High School.

The Aviators took charge early on senior night and rolled over the Warriors 84-48.

Aviator senior J. J. Kukura canned seven three pointers and finished with a game-high 33 points in his final NBC game, moving him into eighth place on the Stark County all-time scoring list ahead of Marlington’s Luke Witte.

Alliance finishes with a perfect 14-0 record for the second time in three years in the NBC and has posted an overall record of 18-2. Over the last three seasons the Aviators have posted a record of 38-4 in NBC play.

Carrollton finishes with an overall record of 7-14 and 5-9 in NBC play.

Alliance led by 10 points after the first quarter at 22-12, but blew the game open in the second frame outscoring the Warriors 19-5.

Pasiuk led the Warriors with 23 points, 15 of those coming in the third quarter as he buried five three-pointers on seven attempts.

Junior Lane Hartong came off the bench to score 11 points and grab six rebounds.

Senior Parish Martin added 14 points and seven assists for the Aviators and senior Dale Dixon and sophomore Jai’Ron Brackett each added nine points.

In the junior varsity game, the Warriors scored a 43-38 win over the Aviators to end their season at 9-12.
