Annual 7-on-7 held at Community Field

FPS staff report

Carrollton 7 on 7
Carrollton's Tyler Dodd get tapped down during action from last Saturday's 7-on-7 at Community Field.

After days of rain, the skies cleared and the spectators came out to watch the annual 7-on-7 passing competition last Saturday morning at Community Field.

Schools attending this year’s 7-on-7 were Malvern, South Fayette, Pa.; Strasburg, Crestview, Salem and Conotton Valley.

“It was a great day of competition and I thought the day went great,” said Carrollton Head Football Coach Eric McCort. “I was very impressed with our quarterback play. I thought Zade (Deitz) did a great job of delivering the ball and seeing and understanding the windows.”

McCort was very pleased with the play of his defense.

“I was really excited about the way the defense played,” he said. “They flew to the ball and were very physical at re-routing the receivers.”

“All in all I was very happy. I hope it carries over to our 7-on-7 at the University of Ashland and at Akron University.”

Each game lasted 25 minutes with a  10-minute break between each game.
