Carrollton junior Lynk Tranter recorded four first place finishes, but it was not enough as the Carrollton boys track team fell to host Marlington 90-38 last Thursday night.
“We knew Marlington was going to have a good team,” said head coach Larry Cogan. “We just have to keep getting better and move on.”
Tranter had firsts in the 110-hurdles with a time of 15.3, long jump with a jump of 19’ 1/2” high jump with a leap of 5’10” and the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.0.
Placing second were Dakota Maple in the discus with a throw of 138-feet, Tyler Dodd in the shot put with a throw of 43’8”, Avery Wilson in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.4 and Austin Wolford in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:48.
Earning third place finishes were Dodd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.4 and the discus with a throw of 122-feet, Wolford in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:55, John Brown in the 400 with a time of 54.9 and Zach Fuhrer in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.4.
The Warriors were to host Minerva Tuesday. They will be at the Quaker Mini Relays on Thursday and take part in the Knights Invitational Saturday at West Holmes.
Next week, the Warriors will travel to Salem on Tuesday and be at the Lidderdale Invitational Saturday at Sandy Valley High School.
