Minerva school board to hold special election

FPS staff report

At a special meeting held May 9, the Minerva Local Board of Education approved a resolution to proceed with placing a 5.2-mill tax levy renewal on the ballot at a special election to be held Aug. 5.

According to Minerva School Treasurer Michael C. Pence, the levy, which is due to expire Dec. 31, 2008, yields annual revenue totaling $1,110,000 and will mean no new taxes for residents of the school district who rejected the request at the March 2008 primary election.
