Three Carrollton FFA members are honored  at state event

FPS staff report

Three members of the FFA chapter at Carrollton High School were honored at the 79th annual State FFA convention held recently in Columbus.

Katy Borland, chapter reporter, received a gold pin for her gold rated reporter's book and Leann Johnson was honored with a gold pin and $25 for her gold rated sheep production proficiency project.

Receiving State FFA Degrees were Miss Johnson, daughter of Walt and Connie Johnson of 1217 Bellflower Rd., Minerva, and Melanie Vance, daughter of Harold and Kim Vance of 3176 Mark Rd., Carrollton.

The State FFA Degree requires members to excel in supervised agricultural experience programs, FFA participation and community involvement.

Local FFA members who attended this year's convention enjoyed several featured speakers, visited the career fair and were among several members recognized for their achievements.
