A Conotton Valley student and three Carrollton High School students are among 18 members of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter at Buckeye Career Center who have qualified to participate in the BPA state competition March 8 and 9 in Columbus as a result of placings at a regional competition held Feb. 8 in Wooster.
Students who qualified for the state competition include:
Alyce McPeek, a junior from Conotton Valley High School and daughter of Yvette Renicker of Sherrodsville, who was a member of the Administrative office support team that placed first in the regional competition.
Shannen Wallick, a senior from Carrollton High School (CHS) and daughter of Laura and Garry Wallick of Carrollton, who placed first in the regional advanced office system and procedures category.
Bailey Cook, a senior from CHS and daughter of Dave and Holly Cook of Carrollton, who placed 2nd in the regional desktop publishing judging.
Paige Vincent, a junior from CHS and daughter of Rhonda Vincent of Carrollton, who placed 2nd in the regional legal office procedures judging.
Other students who participated in the competition were Josh Shortland, a junior from CHS and son of Scott and Sheri Shortland of Carrollton, who placed 6th in accounting fundamentals, and Amanda Drakulich, a senior from CHS and daughter of Steve Drakulich of Dellroy and Lisa Drakulich of Canton, who placed 6th in the spreadsheet category. |
