Five after-school tutors and two supplemental contracts were approved by the Conotton Valley Union Local Board of Education at its Nov. 20 meeting.
Approved as after-school tutors were Charlene Holloway, Virginia Regula, Melissa Thomas, Debbie Causby and Jennifer Warner.
Receiving supplemental contracts for the 2006-07 school year were John Bailey, girls track coach, and Donald Harris, boys track coach.
The Board also approved the following field trips:
Oct. 17, high school music performance at Tuscarawas County Fine Arts Center in New Philadelphia.
Nov. 7 and Dec. 12, grades 11 and 12 video conference at Tuscarawas-Carroll-Harrison Education Service Center in New Philadelphia.
Nov. 30, eighth grade class Career Exploration to Buckeye Career Center and Kent State Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia.
Dec. 5 and 6, Ninth grade English I and English 7, 11 and 12 trip to attend a performance of Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" at the Cleveland Theater.
May 17, Sherrodsville kindergarten grades 1 and 2 to attend a performance by the Magical Theater Company at Barberton.
In other business, the Board:
- APPROVED Thomas A. Anderla as a volunteer wrestling coach.
- ACCEPTED the resignation of Tami L. Shreffler as a district bus driver effective Oct. 28.
- APPROVED six dock days (Oct. 19, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27) for Michael Fierbaugh, a home maintenance and multi-media instructor and transportation director.
- APPROVED the annual contract with the East Central Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center which provides services of the audiology consultant and the assistive technology consultant for fiscal year 2007 in the amount of $893.76.
- APPROVED tuition reimbursement of $600 for Randi Schilling, a science teacher at Conotton Valley High School.
- GRANTED a request for the use of the building and grounds to the Biddy basketball program to hold practices during January and February.
- APPROVED supplemental appropriations in the amount of $9,000 from the Athletics Fund to an amended appropriation amount of $51,650 and $300 from the SchoolNet-Professional Development supplemental appropriation account to an amended appropriation of $2,699.70.
- APPROVED the payment of expenditures totaling $410,338.66 and "then and now" certificates, including those with amounts exceeding $3,000.
- HEARD a concern from Tracy Daugherty and John Rutledge, representing the Conotton Valley Athletic Boosters, who questioned the Board as to what type of heating the Board prefers to be installed in a new weight room they plan to construct. After some discussion, it was determined by the Board that electric would be easier to install.
- SET the next regular meeting for Dec.18 at 7 p.m. at the administration offices in Sherrodsville. |
