Tractors and ear protection

FPS staff report

Ear ProtectionStudents in vocational agriculture classes at Carrollton received a lesson in hearing protection last week and those who drove a tractor to school Friday received a set of “ear muffs” for hearing protection.

Susie Frew of the Carroll County Health Department showed a video, made a presentation on hearing safety and passed out literature  to 115 students on Monday. Those who drove a tractor to school Friday, which is FFA Tractor Day at CHS, received the ear muffs, courtesy of the Carrollton FFA Alumni and Carroll County Farm Bureau. Others received a set of ear plugs.

From left are Susie Frew of the Health Department, Elizabeth Neider of the FFA Alumni Association, Sabrinia Eick, a CHS senior who drove an Allis Chalmers D19 to school; and Todd Davis of the Carroll County Farm Bureau.
Neider said 19 students drove tractors to school.
