Forty-two Bell-Herron scholarships awarded totaling $53,750

FPS staff report

Forty-two scholarships totaling $53,750 were announced and awarded at the annual Bell-Herron Scholarship Foundation’s awards program held May 7 in the Carrollton High School gymnasium.

The recipients, their parents and the institution of higher learning each plans to attend or are presently attending, along with their intended majors, were introduced by Atty. Sean Smith, president of the Bell-Herron Scholarship Foundation. They include the following:

Bell-Herron Scholarship Recipients

Maura Cogan, daughter of Larry and Rhonda Cogan of 386 Stewart Ave., Carrollton, who plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in biology.

Carrie Doak, daughter of Mike and Roberta Doak of 885 Courtview Dr. SW, Carrollton, who plans to attend Grove City College and major in music education-voice.

Kristen Howell, daughter of Charles and Cristi Howell of 307 Garfield Ave., Carrollton, who plans to attend Capital University and major in psychology (pre-medicine).

Brock Hutchison, son of William and Darla Hutchison of 1249 Glory Rd. NW, Carrollton, who plans to attend Muskingum College and major in secondary education.

Ethan Naylor, son of Chuck and Michele Naylor of 354 Deer Haven Dr., Carrollton, who plans to attend Asbury College and major in biology.

Nathan Perry, son of Vern and Sue Perry of 94 Gallo Rd. NW, Carrollton, who plans to attend Baldwin Wallace College and major in international studies.

Mitchell Ray, son of Billy and Kathy Ray of 3040 Folsam Rd. NW, Carrollton, who plans to attend the University of Toledo and major in pharmacy.

Carly Spears, daughter of Mark and Cathy Spears of 200 Wayne Ave., Carrollton, who plans to attend Ohio University and major in business.

Erika Tallman, daughter of Walter and Teresa Tallman of 5212 Lynn Rd. NE, Minerva, who plans to attend Miami University and major in business management.

Jessica Wingerter, daughter of Dan and Diane Wingerter of 784 Courtview Dr. SW, Carrollton, who is a sophomore at Malone College where she is majoring in early childhood education.

Emilee Browning, daughter of Marilee Browning of 3275 Delta Rd. SW, Carrollton, who plans to attend Stark State College of Technology and major in business management technology.

Kayleigh Anderson, daughter of Diane Henderson of 4138 Apollo Rd. SE, Amsterdam, who plans to attend Stark Campus of Kent State University and major in interior design.

Suburban Garden Club Scholarship

Brittney Mehalik, daughter of David and Nancy Mehalik of 4230 Avalon Rd. NW, Carrollton, who plans to attend William Woods University and major in equestrian science.

Bell-Herron Jane Lytle Scholarships

Dominick Arquilla, son of Jacob and Bonnie Arquilla of 7179 Satin Rd., Mechanicstown, who plans to attend Kent State University and major in interior design.

Alysia Looman, daughter of Rex and Deb Looman of 3242 Salineville Rd., Carrollton, who plans to attend Malone College and major in secondary education.

Trisha Rogers, daughter of James and Connie Rogers of 5251 Scio Rd. SW, Carrollton, who plans to attend Stark State College of Technology and become a physical therapy assistant.

Brittney Sadler, daughter of Marge Sadler of 7280 Aurora Rd. NE, Kensington, who plans to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and major in photography.

Jacqueline Bolanz, daughter of Jeffrey and Judith Bolanz of 4140 Salineville Rd. NE, Carrollton, who plans to attend the University of Toledo and major in pharmacy.

Kayla Borland, daughter of Scott and Marcy Borland of 724 High St., Carrollton, who plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan University and major in pre-medicine.

Taryn Crawford, daughter of Thomas and Paula Crawford of Augusta, who plans to attend Stark Campus of Kent State University and major in nursing.

Brenda Gomez, daughter of Jesus and Ma de Lourdes Gomez of 620 Roswell Rd. NW, Carrollton, who plans to attend Tuscarawas Campus of Kent State University and major in nursing.

Laurel Grubbs, daughter of Rusty and Lisa Grubbs of 8194 Trout Rd., Kensington, who is a sophomore at Aultman School of Nursing where she is majoring in nursing.

Julie Leggett, daughter of Vance and Sandy Leggett of 71 Amsterdam Rd., Scio, who plans to attend Malone College and major in nursing.

Kylie Leggett, daughter of Terry and Diane Leggett of 1292 Alamo Rd., Carrollton, who plans to attend Bethany College and major in veterinary medicine.

Vanessa Long, daughter of Alan and Teresa Long of 1185 Pacific Rd., Carrollton, who plans to attend the University of Akron and major in athletic training.

Haley Pastircak, daughter of Mark and Christy Pastircak of 10171 Apollo Rd., Kensington, who plans to attend Youngstown State University and major in nursing.

Katie Rummell, daughter of Lee and Becky Rummell of 1144 Mobile Rd., Carrollton, who plans to attend Stark State College of Technology and major in nursing.

Javan Shields, son of Gary and Marilyn Shields of 5005 Scio Rd. SW, Carrollton, who plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan University and major in music education.

Kristen Lash, daughter of Dave and Marge Oaks of 275 Pineview Lane SW, Carrollton, who is a sophomore at the University of Akron where she is majoring in financial services - real estate.

Jackie Mills, daughter of Lenora Mills of Scio, who is a sophomore at Mount Union College where she is majoring in early childhood education.

Leann Johnson, daughter of Walt and Connie Johnson of 1217 Bellflower Rd. Minerva, who is a sophomore at The Ohio State University where she is majoring in animal sciences.

Maria Miller, daughter of John and Darlene Miller of 1066 Rainbow Circle, who is a sophomore at The Ohio State University where she is majoring in pre-physical therapy.

Sarah Dye, daughter of Terry and Pam Dye of 3200 Roswell Rd., Carrollton, who is a sophomore at Mount Union College where she is majoring in English/literature.

Kristen Richards, daughter of Ken Richards of 2089 Pebble Rd., Carrollton, who is a junior at Mount Union College where she is majoring in environmental biology.

Megan Hasseman, daughter of Gaylord and Deane Hasseman of 325 Fort Rd. SW, Dellroy, who is a senior at Mount Union College where she is majoring in media studies.
