JONATHAN OLIVITO, a 2005 graduate of Carrollton High School, has received a bachelor of arts degree in history and Spanish with a minor in psychology from Ohio University in Athens.

Olivito was one of 45 students who graduated from the prestigious Honors Tutorial College at OU summa cum laude, earning Phi Beta Kappa (liberal arts) and Phi Alpha Theta (History Honor Society) honors. He was a Provost’s Undergraduate Research Fund and Research Award recipient.

Jonathan was also a student researcher with Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs and was a major contributor to the following Voinovich School projects: Athens County Coordinated Transportation Plan, Ohio Quilt Barn Initiative, Office Study of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, and the Mayor’s Partnership for Progress Rural Resource Alliance Feasibility Study. He also was a psychology research assistant and contributed to the Garden of Eden Perception Study.

During the summer of 2009, Jonathan was employed at the Voinovich School in Athens and is attending Ohio University this fall as a graduate student to attain a masters degree in public administration while continuing to work for the Voinovich School. Future aspirations include a masters and doctoral degree in history and becoming a college history professor.

Johnathan is a son of Judge Dominick Olivito Jr. and Cynthia Olivito of 74 Penny Rd. SW, Carrollton.

ASHLEIGH JOHNSON, a 2008 graduate of Carrollton High School and daughter of Dan and Amber Grunder of Harlem Springs, is attending Mount Union College where she is a sophomore majoring in French with a minor in Spanish/Multi-Age education.
