Week 3 winner: Travis Rutledge, Bell-Herron Middle School
Travis Rutledge
Presenting Travis with his award is Aimee Belden from Chesapeake Energy.

Bell-Herron Middle School eighth grader Travis Rutledge is this weeks winner of the Discovering Tomorrow’s Leaders, sponsored by Chesapeake Energy.

Travis is member of the Boy Scouts of America, Carroll County 4-H and the Carroll County Historical Society, just to name a few of his many activities in the community.

He has taken part in the Scouting for Food, a program to collect food for Loves and Fishes, served as a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army during the holiday season; Adopt a Highway program and participated in the 150th Civil War Commemoration reenactment on Public Square to teach younger students about history. He has also demonstrated how to operate an antique printing press at the annual Algonquin Mill Festival and volunteers to raise and lower the flag each day at Bell-Herron.

Travis is the son of Todd and Leigh Ann Rutledge of Panda Rd.

The award is awarded to elementary and high school students who have shown leadership qualities in 4-H, FFA or any other volunteer organization.
