The annual Bell-Herron Scholarship Foundation awards program is May 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Carrollton High School gym.
Outstanding eighth graders along with Outstanding and Most Improved high school students will be recognized.
This year, 39 scholarships totaling $43,500 will be awarded by the Bell-Herron Scholarship Foundation.
Since its establishment in 1963, the Foundation has invested $878,850 in providing post high school training for local and area young people within the Carrollton Exempted Village School District.
The Foundation was established in honor and memory of W. R. Bell and J. Wendell Herron, both former superintendents at Carrollton Schools. Foundation officers are Atty. Sean Smith, president; David Davis, vice president; Linda Shotwell, treasurer, and DiAnne Buck, recording and corresponding secretary.
While Ardena Gassman is handling the mailing solicitation during this campaign, contributions may be given any time of the year. Memorials, class gifts or donations may be a consideration for the future.
