Minerva Area Christian School has been selected as one of the Buckeye Best Healthy schools, according to Joseph Ellis, school administrator.
The Buckeye Best Healthy School awards program is designed to recognize those schools whose policies and practices reflect a high priority on healthy outcomes for children. The program is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Health in partnership with the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division as part of the Ohio Department of Health’s Healthy Ohioans campaign.
During the process, school lunch programs, health programs and physical education programs are surveyed. The Christian School has two new teachers this school year. They are Abigail Bosler, a graduate of Carrollton High School and Malone University, and Amy Jones, a licensed pre-school teacher who has an associate’s degree.
The school is a chartered Ohio Department of Education non-public school located in Minerva where enrollment is approximately 100 students from age 3 through high school. |
