FPS staff report

A former Minerva resident and graduate of Minerva High School has been named the new Superintendent of Osnaburg Local Schools in East Canton.

Todd D. Boggs, 48, of Groveport has signed a three-year contract at a starting salary of $92,000 and was to begin his new duties in East Canton Oct. 21.

Boggs, son of Jean Boggs of North Canton and the late Dr. Richard (Dick) Boggs, a 1960 graduate of Carrollton High School, is a graduate of Minerva High School where he was a member of the football and baseball teams.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in 1989 and received his master’s degree from Ashland University. Boggs received his superintendent’s license from Ohio University.

He has been an educator in Columbus area schools for 23 years and has taught and coached varsity football in the Olentangy, Dublin, Buckeye Valley and Groveport Madison School Districts.

In accepting the Osnaburg superintendency, Boggs said:

“I am honored to have been named superintendent and I look forward to serving with you. I would like to thank the Board of Education, Jim Smith, Mel Lioi and the community members who came out to greet us on our special night.

“I also would like to thank the volunteers, staff members and community members who are working so diligently for our students in so many ways. I look forward to serving in the best interest of the East Canton Local School District”.

Boggs and his wife, Justy, have five children, including Brett, who is a freshman at Bowling Green State University, Beau, a junior at Olentangy High School, Maleigh, a second grader, Maddox, who is in preschool, and Maggy, age two.
