For the 10th consecutive year, the Carrollton Exempted Village School District’s enrollment has decreased.
According to first day enrollment figures provided by school officials for the 2010-11 school year, the school district has a total of 2,325 students districtwide, - or 31 less that the 2009-10 school year of 2,356 students.
Comparison of first day enrollment figures with the 2009-10 enrollments in parenthesis are as follows:
Carrollton High School/Buckeye Career Center - 765 (777), drop of 12 students.
Bell-Herron Middle School - 556 (561), 5 less students.
Carrollton Elementary School - 610 (609), gain of 1 student.
Augusta elementary - 196 (204), loss of 8 students.
Dellroy elementary 198 (205), loss of 7 students.
Area Enrollments
First day enrollments for the 2010-11 school year reported by area school districts were:
Brown Local School District officials reported a first day enrollment of 683 students for K-12 as compared to 711 for last year, resulting in a drop of 28 students.
Conotton Valley Union Local - 551 districtwide, including 122 at Sherrodsville elementary school, 151 at Bowerston elementary school and 278 at Conotton Valley Junior-Senior High School.
This compares with 553 for the 2009-10 school year in which there were 135 at Sherrodsville elementary, 139 at Bowerston elementary and 279 at CV Junior-Senior High School.
Minerva Local School District - 2,018 districtwide, which includes 803 elementary school children (grades K-5); 468 in Middle School (grades 6, 7 and 8) and 720 in the high school (grades 9-12).
Edison Local School District reported a first day enrollment of 2,125 in grades K-12 for the 2010-11 school year.
Sandy Valley Local School District officials said approximately 1,550 students are enrolled in grades K-12 for the 2010-11 school year.
First day enrollment figures were not available for the Southern Local School District at press time this week. |
