High school seniors whose parents or guardians are members of Carroll Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Carroll Electric) may be eligible to compete in the Carroll Electric scholarship competition for scholarships totaling $4,800.
Carroll Electric will provide three awards for both boys and girls divisions. The first place winners of each division will receive $1,200. Second place will receive $800 and third place will receive $400.
Qualifying first place applications from each division will be forwarded to the Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc. Children of Members Scholarship Program, where they will compete for additional scholarships.
Students may also apply for the Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc. Touchstone Energy® Achievement Scholarship. This $1,750 scholarship is specifically geared toward students who have overcome adversity, obstacles or personal challenges.
Applications are available from guidance counselors of high schools located within the Carroll Electric service territory or by contacting Carroll Electric at 1-800-232-7697. Scholarship applications and guidelines are also available at www.cecpower.coop.
Mail completed application form and grade transcripts to Carroll Electric, PO Box 67, Carrollton, OH 44615. All applications and transcripts must be received at the Carroll Electric office no later than Feb. 1, 2013.
