Carrollton superintendent presents three goal program for the district

FPS staff report

Several appointments were approved and reports presented during an Election Day meeting of the Carrollton Exempted Village School District Board of Education.

Superintendent Dave Quattrochi presented information on a three-goal program for the district for the 2012-13 school year. Goals include: #1, Use data to guide and alter instruction; #2, Time on task, engage students in meaningful work in all classes with no down time; and #3, Track and monitor student progress for intervention and enrichment.

High School Principal Dave Davis presented a report on building report card, noting the high school has been rated Excellent for the past seven years.  Davis also reported on the Dual Credit Program where students earn college credit while taking certain high school courses. There are 75 students participating in the program which earns them free college credit.

In other business, the board:
-ACCEPTED the resignation of Misti Fick, middle school girls basketball coach, effective Oct. 29 and appointed Todd S. Aston as a custodian effective Oct. 29 on a one year limited contract.

-APPROVED requests for unpaid leave from Carla Hammen, intervention specialist, Dec. 20 and 21, and Rae Fry, classroom aide, Jan. 11, 2013 through May 13, 2013.

-APPROVED an overnight field trip for the speech team Nov. 9-10 to attend the Princeton High School tournament.

-ACCEPTED .53 additional acres located in Augusta Twp. into a gas and oil lease with Chesapeake Energy.

-ENTERED into a contract with Carroll County Transit.

-ACCEPTED various donations from the community and businesses having a value of $250 or more.

-APPROVED supplemental contracts for Misti Fick as reserve girls basketball head coach and Ben Smith as seventh grade girls basketball coach.

-APPROVED supplemental contracts for Lindsey Zehantbauer, certified; and Linda Shepherd, classified for the 2012-13 school year.
