CHS band at camp this week; preview performance is this Friday

FPS staff report

Parents, alumni and visitors will have an opportunity to preview the Carrollton Warrior Marching Band this Friday, Aug. 2 at 4 p.m. at the 3rd St. NE practice field. The marching band will be performing a show upon returning from their week at band camp in Ripley, WV.

It takes a lot of hard work to prepare students to be ready to perform. This year 80 students took part in the annual band camp. The students were accompanied by 12 band parents and six staff members, who helped the students become performance ready for the 2013 marching season.

Under the direction of Head Band Director David Dickerhoof, Assistant Band Directors Javan Shields and Lorie Strader, Dance Line Instructor Haley Zauntbauer, Majorette Instructor Terri Eichel and Percussion Instructor Jacob Husted, the Marching Band will perform several routines to display their hard work and what they learned in their week at band camp.

The Marching Band will preview routines, which include pregame and the band’s first halftime show to be given at the opening Aug. 30 home football game when the Warriors host East Liverpool.
