To the Editor:
I have worked at my job for over 30 years. When you work at a job that long, it becomes a part of you; it’s in your blood; you develop a loyalty to the job; you care about it like it is a part of your life because it is. It is who you are.
Mr. Grimes had been at his job for 27 years. Like me, I know the job was who he was; it was a part of him. I know he had a loyalty to that job and to the village of Carrollton. The village of Carrollton will miss that terribly. I feel sorry for the village in the aspect they have lost an individual who gave everything to his job. He worked hard for the village; it was a part of him. It was who he was!
I have known Mr. Grimes for quite some time and I know how hard a worker he is on and off the job. He taught my boys about working hard and that is what a man is supposed to do! What is sad to me is that we are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan for freedoms to be able to speak out, not just for our country, but also for those people in those countries and yet in a small little village in the USA, an individual is not allowed to stand up and speak for his rights to defend himself! What are we coming to in this country? Our forefathers would not stand for this!
Carrollton, you need to wake up and think about those who represent you in the village, especially some of them who are not even from this county!
