To the Editor:
Wow! The Warrior Dash was amazing, to say the least!
I have never seen the number of cars, people, bananas and turkey legs in one location at one time in my life, and I have seen a lot.
The people from Red Frog Entertainment (host of the Dash) were well organized, the Area 330 track owner, the visitors bureau, the Sheriff Office, the many volunteers, all did a wonderful job moving the traffic along, keeping the peace, and making this a successful large venue event for Carroll County!
We had 25 of our people, 6 ambulances, a disaster trailer, 6 ATV’s and 2 4x4 supervisor vehicles there, but couldn’t have handled the numerous patients without the assistance of the Carrollton Fire Department’s men and their 6x6 Polaris unit, that was capable of running the entire 3.2 mile grueling track which brought 25 of the patients back to our first aid center alone!
I want to commend my fiancé Colleen Anderson for the organizational and on the grounds managerial operations for the event and a special thank you to all of my medics and EMTs who worked long, long hours that day, covered in thick mud from head to toe, climbing up and down obstacles, hills, thru water, to get to, and retrieve the tired, sick and injured participants of the event.
The participants of the event all seemed to love it and seemed ready to come back next year! These folks, along with many others involved are what allowed this event to be a giant success for our little spot on the map!
